How much does it cost to get your Xbox 360 fixed if it has red ring of death?

My Xbox 360 has red ring of death and i didn't buy a warranty for you it.

okay i just got the 3 rings on my xbox 2 weeks ago and i just fixed it the other day. this is an easy fix and youll spend a little under 20 dollars for all the supplies unless you already have them.. if you have everything but the thermal compound youll be spending 6 bucks!

so your going to need a towel or blanket...THIS IS NOT THE TOWEL TRICK... you will also need polysynthetic silver thermal compound"found at radio shack", a Torx wrench set. needle nose pliers, and you must know how to take apart an xbox... if you don't open a new tab and look it up on youtube. when you can find out how to take it apart then come back to this...take it apart.....

okay now were back.... once your xbox is taken apart you will remove the silver or white button that opens the disk tray.. after this you will take all the screws out of the metal panel on the side you have to lay your xbox on its side to do this.. this is where the torx comes in handy, use the T10 and T8 screwdrivers to remove these screws.. they are black and silver. some are gold... be sure to keep these separated and remember where they cam from.. mark your xbox to be sure if you like. now your mother board is revealed. from here you have to remove the chip on the outside where your power button was.. there are 3 black screws.. use the T8 for this i think..

once that is removed.. you will see a plastic cover leading from the fans to the processors.. remove that..now unplug the fans and take them out........ then unplug your disk drive and remove it.. you may have to remove this before you remove the fan cover...

now you should be able to take the mother board out of the shitty chinese frame.. remove the xclamps on the back.. this will require the needle nose pliers.. and this will be pretty dificult so be carefull... this will allow you to remove the processors.

. there will be two chips where the processors were sitting.. apply the thermal compound to these and put your processors back in place.. then put the xclamps back on.. this might be tough, but make sure they are on all the way. now you put everything back together!

! be sure to plug in the fans and the disk drive.. also make sure every screw is put back in its proper place.. next you want to plug the power cord back in but leave the HDMI thing out.. now do the towel trick for 25-30 minutes.

. now you have permanently fixed your Xbox 360!! i hope this helped you out a lot and enjoy your xbox....

oh yeah P.S. you will get 2 red rings after the towel trick this just means its over heated.. let it cool down for 30 minutes.. and plug it in then enjoy man!!
