God Bless

God Wants You To Be Rich

Peter proclaimed with a degree of certainty, the Scriptures and the necessity of heeding the certain Word of God

We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain. And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. - 2Peter 1:16-21

God is a loving father. Just as loving parents want the best for their children, our Heavenly Father wants what's the best for us! God wants his children to be blessed beyond measure. Poverty is a curse that comes from ignoring God's teachings.  This curse may come on an individual or on a nation. God's blessings come when God's Word is obeyed. God revealed his Word to keep His people out from under the curse.  It is possible to walk in His blessings all the days of our life.

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched - this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. - John 1:1-4

The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. - Psalm 119:130

God wants us to understand that in the earth there is blessing and cursing. When we obey his word we receive blessings, but when we disobey his word we receive curses.

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live- Deuteronomy 30:19

We choose life's blessings by being obedient to the Word of God.

In him was life, and that life was the light of men. - John 1:4

Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. It gave me great joy to have some brothers come and tell about your faithfulness to the truth and how you continue to walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. - 3 John 1:2-4

What does tomorrow hold? Hope in the Bible is the certain expectation of what will happen in the future.  God's promises give us hope, and tell us what our future can be like!

Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. - 1 John 3

God wants us to prosper! In fact, God has sworn an oath to give his people the power to become rich. God's power to prosper is available to work on our behalf.

But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today. - Deuteronomy 8:18

We can receive the blessings of Abraham.

So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith - Galatians 3:9

Our future is a reflection of what we believe in our heart today.  When we know what is going to happen in the future, it is much easier to walk by faith.  God's promises let us know what will happen in the future.  Our job is to internalize these promises.

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. - Psalm 23:1

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:19

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. - Matthew 6:33

God's promises paint a wonderful picture of our future: God wants to supply our every need.  Our faith is manifested by believing and internalizing God's promises.  Our faith for financial prosperity begins with expecting that God wants to work on our behalf to cause us to prosper. Our hope is the confident expectation that God is working on our behalf.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. - Hebrews 11:1

An Abraham Covenant is Established

But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today. - Deuteronomy 8:18

As Abraham's seed, Christians receive an inheritance.  God is fulfilling His promise to Abraham,

and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me." - Genesis 22:18

If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. - Galatians 3:29

The scripture calls Abraham the heir of the world. In Christ we are Abraham's heirs.

It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. - Romans 4:13

When it is settled in our heart that God wants us to be wealthy, our faith works towards receiving those riches.  Our heart must be clear of all doubt in order for faith to work towards receiving God's promises.

Consider Abraham: "He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness." Galatians 3:6

Abraham believed what God had promised him,  and so he was also able to bring it to pass.

And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness," and he was called God's friend. - James 2:23

In order to be called a friend of God, we must believe and act on God's Word as we would the word of a close friend.  As we take the time to develop a friendship with God, acting on His word becomes second nature.

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. - Proverbs 18:24

No servant can serve two masters.  Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve both God and Money. - Luke 16:13

Of course we cannot serve both God and money, but we can serve God with money as our servant to bless others and continue the disciple making work.

The disciple making work must be accomplished.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, - Matthew 28:19

Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. - John 4:35

He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. - Mark 16:15

The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. - 1 Peter 4:7

And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" - Romans 10:15

It takes a level of prosperity to accomplish God's word on the earth.  Our Creator, whom the Bible refers to as "the happy God," wants us to enjoy happy, successful lives.

that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me. - 1Timothy 1:11

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Psalm 1:1-3

The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.- Proverbs 10:22

In the past, God blessed some of his servants with material wealth,

King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth. - 1Kings 10:23

The LORD blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys. - Job 42:12

Jesus said: "I have come that they [his faithful followers] might have life and might have it in abundance. - John 10:10

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. - 2 Corinthians 8:9

The final key to having all you need and being rich the way God wants you to be is generosity.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.- Luke 6:38

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. - Malachi 3:10

To be sure, balance is always necessary
