Elbow Beach Resort: Combo of luxury and comfort
This landscaped paradise is the cynosure of discerning travelers to Bermuda. It is here that the opal waters of the ocean rush to meet a pink and white beach to create the best possible view. There are, currently, some 97 rooms and suites in this luxury beach resort starting with the Deluxe Garden View Rooms (six in number) located on the ground floor. These rooms offer a combo of comfort and style in their largish bed-cum-sitters. Complete with patios, the rooms lead to the in-house swimming pool.
Those checking into any of the Beachfront Lanai rooms, on the other hand, come away raving about the tropical-yet-modern décor of these 500 square foot-wide rooms replete with high ceilings, limestone patios and exquisite French doors that give out into the lounge area. An add-on is the Bose state-of-the-art DVD sound system and the large flat screen LCD television set.
It is the Penthouse suite, however, that makes it – according to some – the best luxury beach resort. Built at split level, this massive chambre offers up some of the best views of the beach, ocean and foliage. The furnishings and sound system are a tribute so phistication and elegance. All rooms and suites have air conditioning, ironing facilities, TV with US programs, high-speed internet access, radio and alarm clock etc.
For dining purposes you could go into Hamilton or dine in-house in the elegant environs of The Seahorse Grill with its refurbished menu. Dine under tray ceilings surrounded by walls cast exclusively in Bermuda stone. Don’t forget to sample their Foie Gras au Tochon and Hamachi Sashmi. But for a more casual dining experience why not try Mickey’s, the country’s only bistro situated on the beach? Dine on the chef’s seafood specialties while listening to the rolling sounds of the waves nearby.
A truly unique experience, making for one of the best beach vacations Apart from your room and dining, there is a well-equipped fitness center that many guests like to visit to keep themselves in shape. How can I take bart to Ocean Beach, San Francisco?
I'm trying to get from Concord, CA to Ocean Beach in San Francisco. Bart doesn't go to Ocean Beach so what's the closest stop to Ocean Beach and where do I go from there? How much will the total trip cost? Thank you!
BART to any of the Downtown San Francisco stations (i.e. Embarcadero, Montgomery Street, Powell Street, Civic Center). Get off the train and go to the station concourse. Then find a MUNI ticket machine, pay your fare ($4.00 round-trip), and enter the MUNI platform area by tagging the sensor with your ticket.
Board the N-Judah line for Ocean Beach. Since it is the final destination, the signs on the train and platform displays will say "Ocean Beach." Unfortunately, the N terminus is close to the bonfire pits and the sand isn't terribly clean in this area.
You can also board the L-Taraval line for the San Francisco Zoo. Get off at 46th Avenue and you are two blocks away from a more attractive part of the beach.
NOTE: When you return, you need to tag the sensor onboard the train to validate the return portion of your ticket. Don't forget to do this. Although inspections are sporadic at best, a ticket that hasn't been validated can get you into trouble with fare enforcement officers.
